The safety and dignity of every child in our care is the highest priority at Siaya Central Secondary School. This page summarises the commitments that guide our staff, our partners, and this website.
Our commitment
- We follow the Children Act, 2022 and the Basic Education Act of Kenya.
- Every staff member is expected to act in the best interests of the child.
- Physical, emotional, and online abuse are never tolerated.
Online safety
As we roll out Starlink internet and a computer lab with our partners BeamUp and Empower Africa, student access to digital tools will be supervised. We teach students how to use the internet safely, respect others online, and report anything that worries them.
Photography and stories
Photographs of students shared on this website and in school communications are used with the school's permission and, where required, with the consent of parents or guardians. If you are a parent, guardian, or student and would like a photo removed, please contact the school office.
Reporting a concern
If you have a safeguarding concern about a child at our school, please contact the school office using the details on our home page. In an emergency, contact the Kenyan national child helpline on 116 (toll free).
